Terminal 5 - Driver Instructions & Guidelines

* Yard Personnel instructions must be followed at all times *

REMINDERS: *Terminal Gates do not open for processing until 8:00AM Monday-Friday, unless otherwise noted on the Home Page.
*Please check Empty Equipment under NEWS for the current status on Empty Returns.
*
Due to safety, if the terminal is low on chassis drivers may not be able to wait on the terminal for returning chassis.
*
Drivers are only to lock/unlock containers in designated areas. Drivers are NOT to lock containers prior to the out-gate pedestals.
*
Drivers must remain in trucks until they reach the designated lockdown area.
*
All trucks Bobtailing or with a bare chassis must use Lane 11 and Lane 12.
*
The bobtail/chassis bypass lane at the out gate is to only be utilized for own chassis, and bobtails.
*
All bare pool chassis must go through the OCR portal for out-gating. After proper outgate transaction has been completed, driver may then exit the terminal with the bare chassis via the CBP by-pass lane.
*
ONLY bobtail trucks and trucks with bare OWN chassis may utilize the kiosk by-pass. Drivers found taking a pool chassis out via the gate by-pass will be subject to the same penalties as with any other terminal rule infraction.
*Drivers are not to open any container while on terminal.
* Any trucker dropping a chassis in a non-designated area will be fined $200.00 and possibly be banned from the Terminal.
*
Any trucker dropping an empty or export on wheels without prior terminal authorization will be fined $200.00 and be subject to the same penalties as any other infraction of terminal rules.
* For security reasons, video and photography at all SSA Terminals is prohibited.
Chassis Only use DCLI for MAE/MSC Equipment. TRAC Chassis should NOT be used for MAE or MSC containers.
**IF IN-GATING/OUTGATING DOUBLES, AND OR TRIPLES INTO T5, PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED A VALID LOCATION FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL CONTAINER.**

Almost all transactions can be completed in the Gate Lanes via the speaker*. The clerk will ask for the information in the order that they need it to process your transaction.

*Driver must have/know the following information:
Trucker SCAC Code (Know who you are hauling for! If you do not have a trucker SCAC code call please call E-modal at 866 758-3838. The steamship line must send the terminal a UIIA form so that it can be added to the terminal system.)
Truck License Plate #
Depending on the type of transaction, the following is also needed:
Booking # or EDO # (Export Full In, Empty Pickup)
Container Number (Export Full In, Export Dray Off, Import Load Pickup for Crane Row or Wheeled Cntrs)
Seal Number (Export Full In, Import Dray In)
*Customer Name (Import Full Peel Off Pile pickup - do not go to speaker-go directly to Backside of J40 and see the Peel Off Clerk)

Always wait until the previous truck clears the scale area before pulling onto the scale!!

* As this can cause drivers to get previous locations given to the driver in front*

Trouble Phones – The only drivers that are to be at the Trouble Phones are those with a trouble transaction (*Clerk on speaker has told driver to proceed to Trouble or those trucks specifically told to go to the trouble window by T5 Personnel.) Driver requesting general empties or loads need to request those transactions via the lane speakers.

- Multiple gensets - In or Out on Flatbed are processed at the trouble window.

* Drivers with no prearrival, or are early/late for appointments need to exit the Terminal. Any drivers found waiting at Trouble will be asked to exit the Terminal *

GENSETS (Single)
(In Gate)

If you have Steamship Line nose/belly or porch mount genset on your OWN wheels, please go to the shop to have it removed before going to the yard location for your container.
(Out Gate)
If you have a Steamship Line nose/belly/porch mount Steamship Line genset on your OWN wheels, please go to the shop AFTER you receive your out gate bound container.

Chassis
Chassis can ONLY be dropped in the chassis yard of the correct size/type. *T5 only accepts TPNP chassis/AIMZ/DCLI Chassis**. DO NOT LEAVE CHASSIS IN THE WHEELS ROWS, Drivers subject to suspension!!

Exiting Terminal 5
Exit the terminal once the transaction is complete. After out gate processing at the speaker, all containers MUST exit via the yellow CBP Portals.
* Bobtail trucks or trucks with bare chassis may bypass the CBP Portals via the marked TRUCKS ONLY lane on the far right of the CBP Portals.
